Maybe it is a GOP conspiracy. Thing is, Rush and the others do not have sponsors pull of the show and have internal mutiny among the ranks. If this happened well maybe the situation would be different. However, Rush and the other speak to nuts who see nothing wrong with “reprehensible comments.” That is what the base looks for and that is what they get. Imus on the other hand was a highly regarded broadcaster appealing to the mainstream and the center. Thus, his base and advertisers are not going to put up with that crap. It sucks all around because Imus was good at what he does and in the thousands of hours broadcast he finally crossed the line. Sad, and he will get what he deserves and then maybe run to satellite or retire. Rush and his cronies I am sure push the envelope of tact everyday and it causes nothing, because a nut is talking to nuts. And what about Stern and his exploitation of women? No big deal because our culture allows that and sex sells.
